love makes a family

We are a Blended Family

and this is our splendid life

But it hasn’t always been this way. For over 10 years we have been in a high conflict custody situation. What most people don’t understand is that life as a stepfamily can be hard and stressful long after the actual court process has ended. Just because a judge issues standard visitation guidelines (or even partially customized ones) does not mean that they are clear and easy to interpret. In fact, our attorney said once that most paperwork is vague for a reason, which is a “good thing”.

I have to disagree. I know that every little detail cannot be discussed and every situation can’t be predetermined but the ambiguity of a custody agreement only adds stress and contention in the long run.

My mission is to provide tools and resources for families who do not want to go back to court, but need resolution management. My goal is to provide action items to settle daily conflicts and minor disagreements between stepfamilies to help you avoid going back to court wherever possible.

better together

finding joy through the trials as a blended family

I know what it’s like to have no control over your situation.

I know what it’s like to feel alone with no one who understands what you’re going through.

I know what it’s like to deal with a high conflict ex… and to sometimes be a high conflict ex!

I know that sharing custody really sucks sometimes.

But over the past decade I’ve learned that even though I can’t control my situation, I can always shift my perspective and choose to be happy no matter what.

This is the support you’ve been looking for. I’m here to help and want to share with you all of the tools that have worked for our blended family.
